New Leadership
Los Angeles Superior Court is now under the direction of CEO/Clerk of the Court David Slayton. He and his team are actively collaborating with LACCRA to recruit reporters and ensure our work is valued and compensated appropriately.
New Floater Model
We are thrilled to report that the court has heard our cries for reform! Based on input from LACCRA, the court administration has modified the floater model to better keep reporters in their assigned region and courthouses.

Reporters employed by the Los Angeles Superior Court receive a generous benefits package that includes more than $70,000 in employee bonuses, allowances, and reimbursements!
- Tax-free Benefits Allowance: $953.46 – $2,055.05 for medical, dental, disability, life and AD&D insurance, health, and dependent care spending accounts. If the cost of benefits is less than the allowance, employees receive the difference as additional taxable pay!
- Retirement Plan: Provided to full-time, permanent employees
- Deferred Compensation Plan: Tax-deferred 457 income plan with a 4% employee salary match
- Student Loan Allowance: Up to $15,000 over two years!
- Signing Bonus: Up to $50,000 over two years for the first 20 new Court Reporters hired!
